With plenty to do in this 20-hour adventure, these tips and tricks should help get a new hero kickstartedinto their wraith slaying journey alongside Nyaal and a super-powered gauntlet.
In most games, skipping the tutorials is a common occurrence. For Atlas Fallen, information that is necessary to fully understand gameplay mechanics and cooperative play is found within these tutorials. While they are not the greatest tutorials, they do offer enough information to glean how to do something, and practice will make perfect. If tutorials are skipped, they can be found in the menu under tutorials.

9Clear Every Quest In Caldrias (The Forbidden Lands)
Atlas Fallen is littered with numerous side quests and objectives for the hero to conquer.Be sure, especially, to clear every quest in Caldrias, also known as the Forbidden Lands, because all of the NPCs in that zone will migrate to the next zone once the hero chooses to continue their journey.
Sincethere is no new game plus in Atlas Fallen, the player cannot revisit the quest givers to complete any abandoned quests. This is the only area in the game that does this, and it displays a warning when considering advancement. The hero can return to the Forbidden Lands to destroy watchtowers, uncover hidden treasures, and anything else unrelated to quests, so be sure to at least clear the quest log.

8Practice Shattering Large Wraiths On Easier Targets
Shattering enemiesefficiently will be key to clearing Atlas Fallen. In the opening frames of the game, once the hero has arrived in the Forbidden Lands, they will encounter a number of wraiths - both large and small. Some of the large wraiths are much more difficult to dispatch than others, so take the time to practice on the easier ones. For example, the worm-like Digger wraiths are easy to dodge or parry, and they only consist of two shatter points. The crab-like enemies, however, are significantly more difficult to topple, especially when first encountered.
7Upgrade Armor As Much As Possible
The hero will obtain a decent amount of armor sets that will be necessary to upgrade as they progress through Atlas Fallen. The hero will obtain a prism currency for upgrading armor and essence shards, so be sure to not blow it all before upgrading armor sets. Each armor can be upgraded a total of three times, and it increases the armor level with each upgrade(this level can be used to compare wraith levels in order to choose which ones are safe to battle).
In addition to this, upgrading armor provides the hero with perk points to unlock and upgrade various perks that indubitably assist them in their journeys ahead. Armor often has bonuses that unlock based on the number of essence shards of each category currently equipped to the gauntlet, so be sure to verify that is set to reap the benefits (they are categorized mainly into red, green, blue, or yellow shards).

6Upgrade And Collect Essence Shards & Formulas
One of the biggest aspects of combat preparation in Atlas Fallen comes down to equipping the best essence shards available that fit each play style.Essence shards and formulas for fusion can be found constantly throughout Atlas, whether from toppled wraiths, treasure chests, or vendors. In fact, dispatching certain large wraiths will reward the hero with corrupted shards that offer greater boons than traditional shards but come with detrimental effects, too. Be aware that all essence stones are upgradable to increase power and effectiveness.
5Upgrade Gauntlet Slots
While upgrading, equipping, andfusing essence shardsis important and provides the hero with positive improvements to their arsenal, upgrading Nyaal’s gauntlet is also vital. Initially, the gauntlet only has a few slots open to equip essence shards and requires the prism currency to unlock the rest.
It is not necessary to unlock all the slots as fast as possible, as armor upgrades and already equipped essence shard upgrades are also very important. In fact, armor upgrades should probably take priority in the early game (especially since some of the perks increase the amount of prism the hero will collect on their journey).

4Clear All Quests As They Become Available
While clearing the quests in the Forbidden Lands is hugely important, clearing quests as they become available will reward the hero with plenty of useful armor and shards that are designed to be useful when initially accepted. Some quests reward new armor, which is paramount to clearing some of the difficult wraiths necessary to defeat to progress the campaign. These quests are also the best way to earn gold, which is useful for buying major upgrade materials, certain armor sets, treasure maps, and cosmetic items.
3Revisit Areas
Like most games of its nature, Atlas Fallen necessitates revisiting older areas once the hero has abilities that are necessary to unlock new areas or rewards in lands previously traversed. The game will backtrack a bit as the hero is required to look for gauntlet pieces, but there is a lot of ground to re-address toward the end of the game, particularly in Bastengar. Fast traveling from anvils will make life easier, and the hero can fast travel between zones to any previously visited anvil.
2Enjoy The Lore
Atlas Fallen may be a lot of things to a lot of people, and it may not be the most critically acclaimed game in the past decade, butdeveloper Deck13 sure invested a lot of time building the world of Atlas. Take the time to enjoy reading or listening to journal entries and soul stones because there is a literal world full of them filled with fascinating information.Lore is hugely important to fully understanding the story of Atlas Fallen, so digging into it as much as possible will make the experience much more complete.
1Experiment With Weapons To See What Works Best
Atlas Fallen does not feature many weapons. In fact, there are only three weapons available to the hero that are all unlocked pretty early in the game. Each is useful, of course, but caters to whatever play style fits best. In addition, the hero will find a number of attack abilities to experiment with in the form of essence shards.
Figuring out what works best for any situation or a personal play style will make Atlas Fallen a much smoother and more enjoyable experience. The devs were even so kind as to color-coordinate the types of shards available based on whether they improve offense, defense, or healing abilities. There is a lot of freedom via essence shards, so use them as warranted.
