Studio Wildcardhas announced via a new trailer thatArk: Survival Evolvedwill receive new story content in December, featuring the voices of David Tennant, best known for his role as Doctor Who, and Madeleine Madden from Amazon’s hit series, The Wheel of Time.

David Tennant and beloved actress Madeleine Madden will reprise their roles as Sir Edmund Rockwell and Helana Walker in the second part of the game’s Genesis expansion, respectively. According to Studio Wildcard, the update brings new content expanding the game’s story and features ‘‘cutscenes to introduce and conclude each ARK map’’. Although details on the update are currently scarce, voiceovers by David Tennant and Madeleine Madden are what fans of Doctor Who and Egwene al’Vere will look forward to hearing more about.

A teaser trailer, which can be viewed above, for the story content was shown off, introducing Helena Walker, a biologist and palaeontologist from Australia, and Edmund Rockwell, a London chemist who will take a crucial role in Helena’s journey to save the world. No gameplay footage has been revealed thus far, however, the short snippet showcases a giant oculus that players will likely face off with at the end of the story. Moreover, Studio Wildcard stated that Helena’s and Rockwell’s explorer notes and dossiers will also be voiced by David and Madeleine.

Part two of the Genesis expansion is the latest paid DLC of Ark: Survival Evolved, adding new areas, biomes, creatures, and missions that players can earn rewards when completing. Maewing, Noglin, Stryder, and Shadowmane are several new creatures that can be found across the Genesis ship. Additionally, the Genesis expansion introduces new environmental features such as Eden Zone, Corrupted Gardens, Hyperscape, and the S.U.M.P, an underground ocean that contains unique creatures.

There is no firm release date for the story content, but the devs confirmed it will release for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch this December. The development team for Ark: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard, are currently hard at work on Ark 2, which is confirmed to feature Hollywood action star, Vin Diesel. Unfortunately, there is still yet to be a confirmed release date for the anticipated sequel.
