As a result, it presented the toughest obstacle to the creative team while emerging as one of the best hours of television the series had to offer. The show’s sixth episode presented a major turning point for the hero, proving to be a challenge to craft. During an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Gilroy admitted that the episode was difficult to edit. The showrunner revealed:

Six was very hard to put together, so I would say yeah. I’m trying to think of where Johnny and I had the most arguments. (Laughs.) Yeah, six was tough.

From Gilroy’s words, it is safe to say that he and editor John Gilroy had the most disagreements on the episode.

In the same interview, Gilroy was also asked about the show’s success, especially the critical acclaim, and whether he was tempted to revert to his original five-season plan forAndor. However, Gilroy admitted that the process of making season 1 only cemented his belief that the series should have only two seasons.

I would think that you’d have some pity and look at what we’re doing and go, “You physically couldn’t do it.” I mean, everyone can see how much we had to pour into this, and we’re not even at the end yet.

Gilroy made the above comment, confirming that he had no intention of expanding the series beyond the two-season arc he had settled on because of the sweeping scope of producing a series set in the galaxy far, far away.

The series was confirmed to be ending with a second and final season, with Gilroy resuming his head writing duties.
