One Piece: 9 Character Reunions We Want To See
Some long-awaited reunions that are yet to happen have the potential to shape the story and bring the needed closure.
If you have been following One Piece closely, the God’s Knights are one of the mysterious groups in the series, and every detail uncovered about them peels back layers of the world government’s dark secrets. They are part of a much larger and cult-like structure, and these are the things we have discovered so far about them.

This article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga.
7The Highest Guardian Of Marijois
The Special Enforcers Of Imu’s Will
The God’s Knights step in when the world government itself is at risk, and they operate on a different level than the marines and even the admirals in the series. They are a mysterious group, but they are the highest order of officers trusted with protecting the nobles, and they stand between the world and the secret locked behind the pristine white walls of Mariejois.
Currently, three God’s Knights; Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham, are in Elbaf to uphold St. Imu’s twisted version of divine balance. They are so important in the series that even Monkey D. Dragon acknowledges that the real battle will begin when the God’s Knights are finally dispatched to bring order to the world.

6Regenerative Abilities Like The Five Elders, And There Is A Loophole To Counter It
A Blindspot To Counter Their Divine Powers
The terrifying ability to regenerate quickly is not unique tothe Five Eldersalone because God’s Knights also possess similar powers. On Egghead Island, even Luffy’s Gear 5, with the help of Dorry and Brogy, could not damage any of the Five Elders.
In other words, all Luffy and his friends could do was slow them down with their attacks. The three God’s Knights are currently wreaking havoc on Elbaf, and their abilities to regenerate make it almost impossible to beat them.

However, amid the near immortality of God’s Knights, Scopper Gaban, the former left hand of the pirate king, managed to wound Sommers in a way that halted his regeneration. How Gaban managed to harm Sommers remains a mystery, but since he knows about the true history of the world, it is not surprising that he could achieve that feat.
This rare vulnerability of God’s Knights introduces a fascinating loophole that can counter their abilities, and introduces a special type of power system in the series.

5A Connection To Shanks
A Discovery That Changes Everything
The Fingarland connection to Shanks is one of the most shocking revelations in One Piece. It was revealed on Elbaf that Shanks has a twin brother, Shamrock Fingarland, who is not just any man but a Celestial Dragon and a member of the God’s Knights.
In this vein, Shanks is also a Fingarland and royalty by blood. Shanks' connection to the Fingarland family hints at secrets that would redefine everything we thought we knew aboutred-haired Shanks.

Moreover, One Piece does not just tell stories about pirates and treasures; it integrates deeper lore that makes the world more captivating. As a fan of the series, I am eager to see how the drama between the Fingarlands and Shanks will unfold.
4They Use The Abyss To Summon Themselves Just Like The Five Elders
The Pentagram-Like Symbol Depicts Something Sinister
The presence of the Five Elders on Egghead Island revealed certain mysteries regarding their powers. A clear revelation is that they do not possess devil fruit power but use a sort of dark magic.
When St. Jaygarcia Saturn landed on Egghead Island, he summoned the other four elders through a mysterious ability called the abyss. The pentagram-like circle appeared on the ground, and they all descended through it.
Similarly, the God’s Knights used the same mysterious ability to summon each other and infiltrate Elbaf. The God’s Knights share a similar pattern with the five elders, and it shows that they are all part of an ancient order or covenant that governs the world governments’ highest echelon.
3Imu Can Possess Their Bodies
They Are Just Puppets
On Egghead Island, it is revealed that Imu can kill the Five Elders anytime and anywhere. At the end of the Egghead arc, Saturn became engulfed in a black flame, and his body became older, disintegrated, and exploded, leaving only his skeleton.
Another new revelation on Elbaf is that Imu can possess the body of God’s Knights. At the end of Chapter 1149,Imu possessed Gunko’sbody to enact his full wrath on the Elbaf people.
In the same vein, this shows that the God’s Knights are conduits for Imu’s sinister ambitions. This new twist is a game changer, and I cannot wait to see how the possession factor influences the Elbaf arc.
2The Fingarlands Are Supreme Commanders
A Legacy Of Power
The Fingarlands hold the position of commander of the God’s Knight in the World Government. The Fingarland family, specifically Garling, played a key role in the mysterious event that happened at God Valley.
Garling is a high-ranking celestial dragon and once held the position of the supreme commander of the God’s Knights, but his recent promotion to the Five Elders group after Saturn’s demise put his son, Shamrock, on the mantle. The fact that the Fingarland holds this much power and one of their blood is a pirate adds more tension to the story.
The Fingarland family and, by extension, the God’s Knights, are a greater threat in the final saga and their family ties with red-haired Shanks would greatly influence the final war.
1Powerful Outsiders Can Join The Group
They Welcome Only The Strongest
The God’s Knights are open to recruiting outsiders who are powerful or important to their grand plans. Gunko and Shamrock went to Elbaf to recruit Loki into the God’s Knights.
When Loki refused, he was continuously attacked and left alone on the brink of death as punishment for his defiance. Loki’s refusal and punishment reveal that the God’s Knights are built on obedience and submission, and no one is allowed to say no.
Hence, knowing that a powerful figure like Loki faced such dire consequences for refusing their offer makes me wonder how many others have been forced into servitude, or perhaps there are some waiting for the chance to break free.
