Iron Man’s legacy in the MCU has largely rested on Spider-Man. With Peter Parker finally embarking on his own adventures, there are a few key characters that exist as a legacy of Tony Stark, barring Peter – Morgan and Pepper.
Rhodey has had an odd arc in the MCU, having been replaced by a Skrull at some point. The fact that he was in a hospital gown, suggests that he might have been swapped out as far back asCivil War, which means he probably does not know that Tony is dead, and has had a child with Pepper.
Riri Williams, or Ironheart made her debut inWakanda Forever, being the closest thing that the MCU has to an active Iron Man as of now. However, there is one character that has yet to receive a story, and that is Ty Simpkin’s Harley Keener.
There are a lot of roots that Harley Keener could take in the MCU
WithRobert Downey Jr.returning as Doctor Doom, there has been a lot of speculation about how Spider-Man will react to encountering the character on the battlefield. A similar effect would come over Harley Keener, should he meet his former mentor in battle. This could be achieved in multiple ways, given the avenues the character has open in the MCU.

Nathaniel Richards, better known as Kang the Conqueror, was a descendant of Reed Richards who took on the mantle of Iron Lad. However, given that Kang had nothing to do with Mister Fantastic or Iron Man in the MCU, the title is up for grabs, Harley Keener fits the bill for the mantle big time.
Harley Keener was clearly important to Tony, appearing during his funeral, despite not having made an appearance in the MCU sinceIron Man 3. However, given thatRhodey and Riri already have Stark’s legacy coveredin the Sacred Timeline, Harley Keener could actually take up the mantle of Iron Man in an alternate timeline.
In this alternate timeline, Keener could become Stark’s protege instead of Peter Parker, making his own Iron Man suit, that gets him involved with the Avengers.
There are a few upcoming projects where Ty Simpkins could essay the role of Harley Keener again
Armor Warscould bring back Keener in an ironic manner, having him mirror Peter, in that he could actually join Hammer Tech, which might be trying to replicate Iron Man’s success in the absence of the character building anymore over at Stark Industries.
Justin Hammer could exploit the young genius, taking him on like Iron Man did Spider-Man. Hammer Tech’s marketing team would not be beyond branding Hammer as Titanium Man, while Keener gets to be his sidekick, Iron Lad.

It is also possible for Harley Keener to become a completely new version of Iron Man. There are plenty of MCU characters that have no precedent in Marvel Comics, such as Darcy Lewis, Hope van Dyne, Sylvie, and Phil Coulson.
All of these characters have become impactful parts of the MCU, and Harley Keener could become one such character too. This could even come to fruition in the upcoming Vision series, which is currently in development over at Marvel.
