A Quiet Place: Day Oneended with a shocking yet emotional scene, but the great thing about it is that it opens for discussion of a sequel. What happens to the boat fleeing Manhattan with Eric and Frodo aboard? Will Sam even survive despite her sacrifice? These are some questions that can only be answered in a potential follow-up film.
Director Michael Sarnoski is pretty much open to continuing the prequel franchise; however, he still hasn’t thought about the plot of the next movie. Fans should not fret, though, becauseA Quiet Place Part IIIis currently in development with John Krasinski at the helm.
A Quiet Place: Day OneDirector Is Open To Making A Sequel
Speaking withVariety, filmmaker Michael Sarnoski confessed he’s interested in making a sequel.
Absolutely. I bet you will. But I don’t know — at this point, I’m just recovering from making this one. So I’m sure Paramount will come up with something very fun next.
The prequel film has an entirely different cast from the original movies withLupita Nyong’oandJoseph Quinnin the lead. The storyline basically showed the very first day that the aliens – called Death Angels – arrived on Earth. It’s also a complete standalone so the audience can enjoy it without having prior knowledge.
Sarnoski said that what attracted him to the story ofDay Onewas its lead character, Sam, a dying cancer patient who sacrificed herself for a friend she just met over the course of the alien attack. “I would want to see something similarly off-beat, like an unexpected character in this world,” the director mused.
He dedicated so much of himself to Sam and Eric, so he wants to write another film where people would care and root for the characters. “The ‘Quiet Place’ universe does open itself up to any characters that you want to follow and want to explore,” he started, and later on added, “I would have to think of a character that I could really fall in love with.”

The ending ofDay Onealone already hints at a potential continuation as more aspects can be explored regarding the arrival of the alien monsters and why they are sensitive toward sounds.
What To Expect InA Quiet Place Part III
In 2022,Deadlinereported thatJohn Krasinskiis officially makingA Quiet Place Part IIIwhich is slated for a 2025 release. Details about the plot remain scarce, although looking into the second movie already hints that the third film will pick up after the scene where Millicent Simmonds’ Regan and Noah Jupe’s Marcus kill the aliens after attaching the hearing aid to the microphone.
