Audience have rejected Hollywood tent poles likeIndiana Jones,Mission Impossible, andTransformers.Even The MCU and The DCU have seen a dead loss. At the same time, viewers desperately embraced the unique storytelling ofBarbieandOppenheimer.
And this shift toward smaller, better, less political films indicates that the future of cinema still has a long way to go. But there’s no doubt that 2023 was a rollercoaster of a year in Tinseltown’s spotlight, which blended success stories with box office challenges.
